The Water’s Edge

The Water’s Edge is a compilation of mixed media sculptures, still photography and cyanotype contact prints by artists Declan O’Dowd & Carley Mullally. The exhibition at The Craig Gallery explores the relationship between the act of walking and collecting on the shorelines of Nova Scotia and the “gathering of thoughts” on the washed-up marine waste found there. The friction between the vast, immense natural beauty of the ocean with the found manmade materials brings to light environmental concerns, concepts of sustenance, mental health and gender.
